Pilot Action - Towards a Danube bioeconomy RTI strategy for appropriate regional added value chains

The pilot action of Danube-INCO.NET (T3.3, WP3) aims at supporting and developing a bioeconomy RTI-strategy and a related research and innovation agenda for the Danube Region. The activities will include the discussion and alignment of current activities, the presentation of a R&I agenda and the identification of potential measures to support the development of the bioeconomy in the Danube Region.

ONLINE Consultation was open until 31 August 2016.

We invited bioeconomy experts to review and comment on the position paper “Towards a bioeconomy RTI strategy in the Danube Region”. The position paper aims at mapping bioeconomy related policies in the Danube Region and at supporting the initiation of national RTI bioeconomy strategies.

Workshop 1 on March14th, 2016, in Vienna: Experts from the Danube Region share experiences on bioeconomy-related, national policy initiatives and strategies in the Danube Region. Further, needs, requirements for developing a bioeconomy RTI strategy for the Danube Region will be discussed and analyzed. The workshops outcome will provide an overview of the most important actors, the status quo and future perspectives of bioeconomy development in the Danube region. 

Workshop 2 on May 24th, 2016, in Timișoara, in connection with and directly following the 7th CASEE Conference. Results from workshop 1 and the development of a common understanding of bioeconomy for the Danube region will be discussed. The second workshop provides additionally information on appropriate funding possibilities and will give the participants an opportunity to develop reserach proposals and a strategy process.

Workshop 3 on October 13th, 2016, in Vienna: Presenting and discussing the results of online consultation and the final position paper, discussing furtehr steps after the pilot action ended, coaching for research proposals.
