Sector for Science is responsible for drawing up acts and statutory instruments in the area of research activity, setting up and developing a system for comprehensive analysis and for monitoring and development of research activity, developing new instruments for the implementation of research policy objectives, cooperating with the European Union in order to ensure Slovenia's equal participation in EU development and integration processes, participating in joint European initiatives and projects, planning the appropriate amount of funding required for research activities implemented through the Slovenian Research Agency, granting the status of an association acting in the public interest to such associations in the area of research activity.
