CEI Research Fellowship Programme offers Research Stays in Trieste, Italy
The CEI Research Fellowship Programme CERES aims at supporting trans-national mobility of experienced researchers (i.e. postdocs) from several disciplines across the CEI area. The next annual call is foreseen for early March 2010.

Candidates may choose among 5 different host institutions and laboratories based in Trieste:
- International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB)
- International Centre for Theoretical Physics
- ABDUS SALAM (ICTP)
- International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA)
- Synchrotron ELETTRA and
- Cluster in Biomedicine (CBM).
The CEI Research Fellowship Programme was established under the aegis of theCEI Science & Technology Network, established in 2005 to enable mobility by giving selected scientists the possibility of carrying out research in one of the Network's Lead Institutions. CERES has a duration of 44 months, from April 2009 to November 2012, and enables total of 30 incoming fellowships. 40% of the scholarships are covered by the EC (FP7 – People Marie Curie Actions), 30 % by the CEI Executive Secretariat and 30% by the programme partners.
CERES Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be nationals of one of the CEI Countries (all Western Balkan Countries are eligible). There is a special focus on non-EU Member States of CEI / countries with lower R&D intensity. Applicants must be experienced researchers, i.e. PhD holders or having at least four years of research experiency, and must be fluent in English.
Freedom of choice as to research topics is assured to all applicants, in line with the bottom-up approach of all Marie Curie Actions.
