participating to the BIOEAST initiative1: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia (Figure 1). Data are presented for the BIOEAST region as a whole, however, though sharing many features, in some
respects there are also significant differences among countries.
